This app utilizes the VpnService to enable DNS server changes for all types of networks, not just Wi-Fi. Its implementation of the VpnService is crucial in providing advanced security features. It's important to note that this app does not establish an actual VPN connection and does not transmit any data outside of the device via VPN.

When you navigate to a website using its name, such as example.com, your device consults DNS servers - specific servers that provide instructions on how to access the website. DNS is an older protocol that has seen minimal updates since its creation in 1987. However, the internet has evolved significantly during this time, rendering certain aspects of the protocol outdated.

This app addresses one of the major issues with DNS: encryption. While most internet traffic is now encrypted, DNS requests (i.e., inquiries about a website's address) and their responses remain unencrypted. This vulnerability allows attackers to intercept, read, and modify your requests.

Nebulo, a DNS changer app, resolves this problem by implementing DNS-over-HTTPs (DoH) and DNS-over-TLS (DoT), as well as DoH3 protocols. These protocols securely transmit your DNS requests to the target server, ensuring that only you and the DNS server can access and interpret the information you send.
